That was a long bus journey. Mind you, saying that, although it was 29 hours, it was not that bad. Santiago looks like your typical capital city - tall buildings, cars everywhere, looks and feels like a shit hole!

It took me about twenty minutes to get to the hotel. I wish i stayed on the bus! My room was smaller than a prison cell! I sware they had to cut six inches off the bed to make it fit. The old woman was miserable and not very helpful, the building was about as old as her, and creaked about the same.

I literally through my bag in the room and buggered off out! Found a supermarket just around the corner and a lot of restaurants. And when i came back to the hotel, i noticed a bar on the corner opposite! So i went in...

...and had a very nice pint of local Santiago beer! Got talking to the barmaid, who spoke good English, about all kinds of things. Especially football. The next thing i knew it was dark. I had some sleep to catch up on as normal when travelling on buses, so i think i was in bed by half nine.

The next day i took a long walk around for most of the day, but was nothing worth writing home about. The bar i went to yesterday was shut at the weekends (!). In fact, a lot of places seem to be shut. Had lunch and chilled out for an hour, before heading off again towards some of the parks. The temperature has dropped today to about 15C, and now it is dusk, it's time to go back to my prison cell. Still, if i turn the lights off and engross myself in a film, i aint gotta think about it no more today. Laundry was put in today too. Tomorrow I'll look at booking a ticket for next leg. Thinking of stopping at a town called Pucon on the way down. It was recommended a must see place in Chile. It is by a lake and a volcano.
